Aquanaut premiers Andante 400 AC-DJ at Boot Holland

SNEEK _ Aquanaut has extended its Andante line of motor yachts, adding de Andante 400 AC-DJ (photo) to the line-up. The Andante series are yachts that are a cross between an open cockpit, a trawler and a top cockpit motor yacht, all designed by Willem Nieland. There are now 4, ranging from 11.6 to 15m (38 to 49ft.). The yard’s portfolio also includes the Majestic, the European and the Global Voyager and the Drifter series. Still on the boards: the very high-end Unico line.

The Andante stands out for its flat-bottomed stern and sharp bow. The yard says the motor yacht takes on little water and extra chine ridges render more stability and less wake. The Andante comes with an open cockpit or an aft cabin and features panoramic windows that let in a sea of light. Elevated gangways create usable storage space. The galley is built across the entire beam under the high foredeck gangway. Large front and side windows let in lots of light. The external steering position has an elevated seat.
