HEEG _ Wajer Yachts has unveiled more fast eye candy. The Wajer-55 S comes 18 months after the company’s flagship Wajer-55. It is a sportier version, built on the Wajer-55 hull but features a different deck layout.
The outcome: a more dynamic look, plus oodles of space for watersport gear. No wonder Wajer calls it a Sports Utility Yacht. It holds a trio of 435-HP Volvo Penta IPS600 engines for joystick driving, dynamic positioning and a top speed of over 40 knots. The cruising speed is 28 kn.
“We find it very important to listen to the wishes of our customers,” says Dries Wajer, the company’s commercial director. “We use this information to fuel the continuous innovation on our vessels.”
He calls the 16m Wajer-55 S a logical continuation of the Wajer-55 series, of which he has sold more than 30 to date.
The new model sports a high-end finish. Its hardtop roof holds removable panels and can be extended to shade the lounging area. There is an outdoor galley _ with a grill, a fridge and an ice maker. The built-in Volvo Penta Glass Cockpit System has tailor-made displays showing navigation data, engine monitoring, warnings and alarms.
Optional are: a stabilization system, carbon finishing and a swimming platform. Like its flagship sibling, the Wajer 55 S was designed in partnership with Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design. Vripack Naval Architects designed the hull.
