A bigger, greener METSTRADE Show

AMSTERDAM – The 2019 METSTRADE Show (32nd edition, Nov. 19-21) will bring a record 250 new companies to Amsterdam’s RAI events complex matching what organizers say is “an unprecedented number of pre-show visitor registrations.”

Irene Dros

The 2019 edition of the world’s largest marine equipment trade show will boast 1650+ exhibitors from 55 countries. There will be a significant number of new entries in digital, sustainable innovations and a beefed-up events program. “One of the most pleasing aspects of these new exhibitor numbers is that they come from 35 different countries,” says METSTRADE Maritime Director Irene Dros

The 2019 METSTRADE will be opened with a keynote address by Feadship Director Henk de Vries, followed by the DAME Design Awards ceremony, an annual salute to pioneering ideas in the yachting industry.

Scores of speakers have been lined up throughout the 3-day show at the Construction in Process Stage, the E-nnovation Stage, the Young Professionals Club Stage and the I-nnovation Stage. New at the latter: A Speakers Corner. The I-nnovationLAB will also host 3 panel discussions on sustainability focused on global biofouling, end-of-use boats and the environmental situation in the leisure marine sector.

“The ultimate goal of our educational and knowledge-sharing program is to cover current and future topics which relate to the developments of the industry,” says Dros. “Over the past five years we’ve been actively increasing the number of sustainability initiatives at three distinct levels: reaching out, networking and sharing information about sustainability-driven initiatives.”

Also watch out for:

 — METSTRADE’s new partnership with the Water Revolution Foundation that pursues more sustainability in the yachting sector
 — The Material District presentation, dedicated to bio-based and recycled raw materials, and the electric and hybrid information sessions on the E-nnovationLAB stage.
 — The Trade Counsellors Hospitality Lounge, a new feature, hosting 50+ Trade Counsellors and other officials from countries with a national METSTRADE pavilion
 — Larger than ever events: NMEA education seminars, the Superyacht Forum, a Marina Design Training Program (Tuesday & Wednesday) and presentations by the Global Marina Institute (Wednesday).
 — The 5th annual Boat Builders Awards at Amsterdam’s Maritime Museum (Tuesday) and networking opportunities throughout the show.
