Andante 400 AC: a versatile, spacious yacht

SNEEK _ Aquanaut Yachting has been building motor yachts since 1961. Today, it employs 3 dozen people and builds 10 motor yachts _ from 12 to 19m. _ annually. By now, the yard’s portfolio spans 1300 yachts.

Aquanaut has extended its Andante series, adding the Andante 400 AC (photo) to the line-up. Andantes incorporate aspects of open cockpit and trawler yachts, are designed by Willem Nieland and range from 11.6 to 15m (38 to 49ft.). Aquanaut also makes the Majestic, the European and Global Voyagers and the Drifter series. Still on the boards: the high-end Unico line.

The Andante stands out for its flat-bottomed stern and sharp bow. The yard says the yacht takes on little water and extra chine ridges render both more stability and less wake. The Andante comes with an open cockpit or an aft cabin and features panoramic windows that let in a sea of light.

Elevated gangways create usable storage space. The external steering position has an elevated seat.
