AMSTERDAM, November 2017 ~ The 30th annual METSTRADE show ended Nov. 16 with organizers smiling broadly and saying their B2B event lived up to its reputation as “the world’s premier gathering of the leisure marine community.” The 2017 METSTRADE set new records. It welcomed exhibitors and visitors of 116 nationalities and recorded 16,307 unique visitors and 24,856 visits, up more than 5% from 2016.
Most visitors came from the Netherlands, Italy, Britain, Germany, France and Spain but organizers reported a jump in visitors from Greece, Croatia, Finland, the United States and Ireland. In all, the show lured 1,552 exhibitors (also up of 5%) to the RAI events complex. “METSTRADE continues to be an important platform for our brand to meet with many of our distributors from around the world, including New Zealand, Canada, South Africa and Singapore,” says Chris Feibusch, Head of Global Marketing for Britain’s WesCom Signal and Rescue.
The 30th anniversary METSTRADE presented an E-nnovationLAB for electric & hybrid propulsion systems and put young entrepreneurs in the spotlight with a Young Professionals Club lounge and canal cruise. The event ended on a forward-looking note. “We have a clear ambition for to embrace the next generation of people and technologies,” says show organizer Irene Dros. “To thrive in the future, the marine industry must strengthen partnerships, focus on the latest developments in society, and use the latest propulsion and production methods.”
