DEN BOSCH _ Dynamic Marine Systems is growing its portfolio of roll-damping systems. Starting in 2019, its will market its AntiRoll stabilization system _ until now available only for super yachts _ also for fast-planing yachts of up to 30m (98 ft.)
DMS will unveil a prototype of the ‘sub-superyacht’ AntiRoll system (left) at the Nov. 13-15 METSTRADE show in Amsterdam.
DMS already caters to water-displacement yachts of up to 30m with its electric MagnusMaster roll damping system (below). Its rotating cylinders generate up or downward pressure. By serving fast, under 30m yachts _ that typically can do 30 or 35 knots _ with an AntiRoll system, DMS can access a bigger market. The electric AntiRoll fin system stabilizes a yacht both underway and moored. DMS says it also does that when planing. In that case, the fully retracted fins act as trim tabs.
“We created DMS in 2013 and have done well in the under-30m market of slow, water displacement yachts,” DMS marketing chief Patrick Noor says in an interview with this newsletter. “We will now tap a much larger market in which the AntiRoll for under 30m yachts has a great potential.”
His company aims for such brands as Fairline, Princess, Sunseeker, Gulf Craft, Feretti and Jeanneau.
DMS says its AntiRoll system works at high and low speeds as well as at anchor. “This 3-in-1 function is unique. Often, multiple roll damping systems are installed on a single yacht just to generate comfort under all circumstances,” says Noor. “A single AntiRoll system suffices to generate comfort under all circumstances.”
One of DMS’ ‘Launching Customers’ is Jonkers Yachts. The Dutch company sells the Linssen, Fairline and Jeanneau brands and will be a test site for the under-30m Anti-Roll prototype. DMS expects to make the first deliveries in 2019.
