ZAANDAM – Eekels Technology BV has agreed to relaunch the activities of De Keizer Marine Engineering which was declared bankrupt on October 15.
A subsidiary of TBI Holdings, Eekels says the restart means that a majority of De Keizer employees, will keep their jobs.
Eekels says it agreed to absorb the activities of De Keizer as these fit very well in Eekels’ strategy by strengthening Eekels’ position in the superyacht building market. Four large Dutch yards support this restart, it adds.
De Keizer Marine Engineering has been a family business since its founding in 1965. Dee Keizer has grown into a leading electrical systems integrator aboard superyachts. De Keizer is based in Zaandam, just west of Amsterdam, and has half a dozen project sites across the Netherlands.
Eekels and De Keizer Marine Engineering serve complimentary markets. In terms of know-how, De Keizer Marine Engineering is comparable to Eekels. Together they will employ close to 900 employees and be leading players in the marine and offshore sectors in the Netherlands.
