Esthec enters Chinese market

SHANGHAI – Esthec, the global leader in yacht decking systems, used the China International Boat Show in late April to announce its entry into China. Esthec will be marketed in China through Dek-King of Shanghai whose installation teams will guarantee the required level of quality of Esthec decks.

“We see significant growth possibilities in China,” says Esthec Commercial Director Marcel van der Spek. “It is a maturing market. And in Dek-King we have a strong, local partner who knows that market intimately. We market our products worldwide through local or national partners.”

Dek-King marketed a rival PVC decking material for years, but has hooked up with Esthec, keen to represent a high-quality brand. Launched in 2007, Esthec has injected much innovation in technologically advanced deck systems. A synthetic, extremely durable and low-maintenance material made of natural ingredients, Esthec has none of the downsides of teak.

The decking material offers designers, builders and end-users peerless convenience and choice: 13 standard and unlimited custom colors, design freedom, comfort, safety and a high insulating factor. Esthec says its decks outlast alternatives and can be designed by computer in any pattern or color, ready to be glued to a deck.

Esthec is also available in a traditional plank design. An Esthec deck can even be premounted upside down to a yacht’s molds. When the deck goes onto the hull, the Esthec deck is then automatically installed the right way up, saving weight, time and money.

The China International Boat Show is the country’s most important yacht sector event. It is dedicated to introducing China’s growing upper and middle classes to a maritime lifestyle and yachting culture. Chinese yacht sector data predict a 10% growth rate for the industry in the years ahead.

Esthec is not a thermoplast (PVC) product, a factor the Chinese market recognizes as a significant upgrade from products available there until now. Made from materials containing natural ingredients, color pigments and recyclable filler, Esthec decks reflect today’s consensus that ecological sustainability is key in every sector and endeavor. To maintain product quality, Esthec develops and manufactures its decking material inhouse.
