FORT LAUDERDALE – The 56m (184ft) Royal Huisman-built Aquarius collected 2 awards at the start of the 2019 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show: the “Best Sailing Yacht over 40 meters” award and the “Best Interior” award.
Both were handed out at the annual International Superyacht Society Awards of Distinction.
The Best-Interior award is chosen from winners in all +24m (80ft) sail and power boat categories delivered in the previous year. In the past 5 years, 3 Royal Huisman superyachts won the “Best Interior” award: 2015 (52m ketch Elfje), 2018 (51m high-performance sloop Ngoni) and 2019 for Aquarius.
The latter’s brief called for an elegant, but muscular ‘modern classic’ yacht for both cruising and the occasional regatta. The naval architecture is by Dykstra Naval Architects and the interior design by Mark Whiteley Design
Earlier in 2019, Aquarius received the “Best of the Best Sailing Yacht Award 2019” by Robb Report Magazine. Royal Huisman is currently working at 2 of its yards on more than 10 new-build and refit projects
