Heesen names marketing chief as it strives to broaden footprint

OSS – Heesen Yachts has named Mark van Heffen as its marketing director per Sept. 1. Boasting over 15 years of experience in global marketing, Van Heffen recently held an interim marketing position at the Dutch superyacht builder.

In that role, he stepped up Heesen Yachts’ multimedia presence through the world’s first-ever yachting chat show – YachtTalk by Heesen – and a new Heesen brand movie that recently premiered on Heesen’s TV platform and social media channels.

“We are excited to have someone of Mark’s caliber join our team,” said Friso Visser, Heesen Yachts’ Chief Commercial Officer. “His in-depth marketing knowledge and unconventional approach coupled with excellent team management skills will help to accelerate our plans for a robust and successful future.”

Visser joined Heesen Yachts four months ago. The additional appointment of Van Heffen reflects the company’s eagerness to widen its footprint as a builder of fast superyachts of 30 to 50m, among others by selling more pure custom yachts.

“Leveraging his expertise in strategic management consultancy and international marketing communications, Mark will oversee the global marketing strategy and operations for the Dutch shipyard,” Heesen Yachts said in a statement.
