OSS – Heesen Yachts has launched its Project Skyfall, a full-custom, all-aluminum 60m yacht christened Ultra G. It was the first Heesen-built yacht launched in 2023, a year “that promises to be exciting and busy,” says the Dutch superyacht manufacturer.
Ultra G confirms Heesen Yachts as the market leader in designing, engineering and constructing very fast, lightweight motor yachts of 50 to 70m (164-230ft). The inspiration for Ultra G, the yard said, were two luxury sportfishing yachts it built in the 1990s: Obsession, then the world’s largest sportfishing yacht until Heesen launched Red Sapphire.
“MY Ultra G is the ultimate expression of the knowledge and experience gained in over 40 years of shipbuilding,” adds Heesen Yachts.
Ultra G’s layout is conceived to welcome friends for social fishing outings while allowing the master apartment to maintain a necessary level of privacy and peace on the bridge deck. It has a jacuzzi, a large walk-in wardrobe, an ample bathroom, a central oval bath, and a separate shower stall.
The main saloon holds a custom wine fridge. The media room has a Samsung TV screen that measures 1.81x 8.1m (6×26.6ft). The forward main deck features a games table and the sun deck has an aft-facing infinity pool.
Canine guests are welcome, too, thanks to a series of carefully thought-out details to make their life at sea as safe and stress-free as possible; these include a ‘relief area,’ a self-flushing side deck area covered in synthetic grass and featuring sensors, cameras and sprinklers.
The yacht can accommodate 10 guests and 13 crew members. Ultra is powered by 4 MTU 20V 4000 engines that pack 22,000HP and drive 4 Kongsberg S90 waterjets.
The outer engines comply with the latest Tier III environmental regulations and drive steerable jets, while the center engines operate fixed booster units.
Waterjet drives lower the yacht’s draft to less than 3m (10ft) and reduce vibration by 40% compared with traditional shafts and propellers.
The yacht boasts a Fast Displacement Hull Form that delivers a smoother, flatter ride compared to a conventional semi-displacement shape. There are gyro stabilizers and interceptor trim plates. The top speed is 37 knots in light load conditions.
