AMSTERDAM – The METSTRADE organization needs you to help build a better world. You can nominate a worthy marine cause for the 2022 DAME Awards charitable donation. Candidates for the award can apply by May 1.
METSTRADE organizers donate all DAME Design Award registration fees to a marine-related charity every year. The award celebrates excellent product design by marine equipment companies.
“We recognize we have a role to play in providing opportunities to work together with the marine market to inspire a positive development of the industry we serve,” says Sarah Westdijk, METSTRADE’s Senior Exhibition Manager. “We want to play our part in improving the leisure marine sector’s social footprint by connecting people with the networks and funds they need to help address the big opportunities and challenges they face.”
The 2021 winner, Britain’s Blue Marine Foundation, received €15,450. It gave the money to the Berwickshire Marine Reserve to enable a local project officer to host workshops on safeguarding and managing the marine reserve.
This year, the winning charity will be announced in mid-June. The entry window for the DAME Awards runs from July to mid-September. All 2022 METSTRADE participants can enter their new products for consideration by an international jury of designers and end-user experts.
The METSTRADE Show is the world’s largest trade exhibition of equipment, materials and systems for the international marine industry. RAI Amsterdam organizes it in association with the International Council of Marine Industry Associations. The 2022 METSTRADE Show will be held Nov. 15-17 in the RAI Amsterdam Convention Center.
