‘s HERTOGENBOSCH _ Shedding several years of hardship, Moonen Yachts is back. The Dutch yard is building a 2nd 36m yacht of its Martinique line and refitting the 42m Sofia which it launched in 2013.

The 2nd Martinique, due for delivery in early 2020, features exterior design by René van der Velden. The yard’s naval architecture is a joint undertaking by him and Diana Yacht Design. The interior design is by London-based Studio Indigo. The semi-custom steel yacht will accommodate 12 guests and 7 crew, have a range of 4,000 nm at 10 knots and a top speed of 16.5 knots.

The first Martinique, named Brigadoon, was delivered in 2018. Moonen again engaged Studio Indigo for the interior of Brigadoon’s sister ship. Says Moonen CEO Johan Dubbelman, “We’re very happy to continue our relationship with Studio Indigo following the resounding success of the 36m Brigadoon. The fresh ideas and design perspective from Studio Indigo pushed Brigadoon to the next level.”

In addition to building Brigadoon’s sister ship, Moonen is refitting and repainting the 42m Sofia which the yard launched in 2013 and will relaunch in March.

“We are very pleased to welcome Sofia back home,” says Dubbelman. “At our facilities we can dock up to 4 yachts from 30 to 50 meters simultaneously.”
