More elbow room at Metstrade

AMSTERDAM – Metstrade organizers have announced an expansion of their annual B2B marine equipment trade show here, starting with this year’s edition to be held Nov. 15-17.

The plan includes an extension to Hall 5, general layout changes to facilitate further growth and “smart solutions for networking and knowledge sharing,” says Metstrade Exhibition Manager Sarah Westdijk.

The announcement underscores the success of Metstrade, by now the world’s largest marine equipment trade show. Already 75% of its 2020 floor space has been booked. The 2019 edition saw a record 1,670 exhibitors and 17,792 unique visitors from 115 countries come through the doors.

Westdijk says growth is possible as the RAI complex, the show’s home, “is constantly upgrading its facilities.” She adds a new layout will create room for specific groups and potential expansion. “Stimulating innovation is another priority,” she said. The layout changes include:

— The Construction Material Pavilion’s move to a larger area in Hall 12 where the MaterialDistrict gets extra seating area.
— The Marina & Yard Pavilion goes to newly extended Hall 5 where it has room to grow.
— The US and Canadian pavilions move to Halls 5 and 1. And the Nordic ones to Hall 7 where they will be near one another.
— The I-nnovation- and E-nnovationLABs will be merged at the Elicium. The Amtrium Lounge gets a new networking area.

Metstrade is the world’s largest trade exhibition for equipment, materials and systems for the international leisure marine industry. It is organized by RAI Amsterdam and ICOMIA, the International Council of Marine Industry Associations. The event targets yacht builders, naval architects, refit yards, distributors, dealers, wholesalers, captains, marina owners and marine equipment manufacturers worldwide.
