MAKKUM – Gebroeders Van Enkhuizen in Makkum is building a new, sturdy 46ft Enksail Noordkaper. The yard started building the steel hull last November. It will be ready in April and delivery of the yacht is scheduled for mid-2021.
The yard’s 21st Enksail NK will be a Grand Tour model with extra comfort for long voyages. The Enksail NK46 is for a US customer in the Seattle, WA., area. Before the yacht will be sailed to the US Pacific Coast, it will tour European waters. The boat will feature a multi-voltage electric system (110 and 230 Volt).
Gebroeders van Enkhuizen says it builds “yachts that last for eternity. Not only extremely beautiful yachts, but also very practical and well thought out.”
The yard’s steel-hulled Enksail NK yachts range in length from 40 to 60 ft. Buyers can opt for a hydraulic keel to achieve variable draft. The cutter-rigged, semi-custom yacht can be easily sailed by 2 people, has disproportionately much interior space for its length and features a characteristic straight-up, boxy saloon that provides 360-degree outside views.
In addition to its Enksail series of sailing yachts, Gebroeders Van Enkhuizen also makes high-end motor yachts, including Sossego-branded luxury craft and the Noorderkotter.
In 2018, it built a fast 62ft dayboat for Waterdream, a Dutch yard that markets premium, aluminum motor yachts.
