CANNES – The 2020 Cannes Yachting Festival will go ahead as planned from Sept. 8-13 – albeit in an “adapted format” – at the Vieux Port and Port Canto, the event’s organizers said on July 2.
“After many weeks of uncertainty,” Show Manager, Sylvie Ernoult, said in a statement “we are pleased to have reached the final stretch before the opening of the Festival.” She added, “We have adapted the festival format” to meet health and safety norms dictated by the diminishing coronavirus crisis and in consultation with the City of Cannes and others.
The 2020 Cannes Festival will welcome just over 340 motor and 80 sailboats. The exhibitors will be divided between the 2 Cannes ports: motorboats at the Vieux Port, sailboats in the Sailing Area at Port Canto.
The boats and stands will be installed in accordance with a General Health and Safety Plan that regulates crowd flow management, entrances, sanitizer sites, the wearing of masks, the cleaning of common areas etc.
