HEEG – It was Wajer Yachts’ biggest and sweetest marketing coup! On Feb. 10, Tom Brady – the National Football League’s all-time No. 1 quarterback – joined a festive Tampa boat parade in his brand new, sky blue Wajer Yachts-55S.
The event celebrated that three days earlier, Brady had led his Tampa Bay Buccaneers into a 31-9 crush of the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2021 Super Bowl.
In America, a Super Bowl win always means, ‘Party Time!’ And this year, also a call to the Dutch maker of Brady’s luxury dayboat from a Tampa TV station.
The Wajer 55S (S stands for Sports version) is a 16m custom-built GRP composite boat that costs around €2 million, depending on the customization. Its standard motorization is a triple Volvo Penta IPS-600 D6 that packs more than 1300HP and achieves a top speed of nearly 40 knots.
The design is by Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design and Vripack Naval Architects, both of the Netherlands. The Wajer Yachts-55S features a hydraulic swimming platform, a garage for water toys, and state-of-the-art nav gear.
Wajer Yachts was founded in 1992. To date, it has built well over 515 high-end luxury dayboats and captain’s launches. About 70% of Wajers are used as dayboats. The rest ends up in the superyacht sector.
Wajer has a taste for innovation. The latest: a mid-ship, underwater Foil Assist, patented by Van Oossanen Naval Architects. It reduces slamming, improves maneuvering, and increases both speed and fuel efficiency.
