Vetus beefs up staffing to maintain strong growth in key markets

SCHIEDAM – Citing record sales levels in 13 years, Vetus, the Dutch boat systems maker, has expanded senior staffing to maintain good growth.

In Montelupo, Italy, Davide Baldereschi has been named as Branch Manager. “With 14 years of experience in sales and marketing at multinational companies, Davide also brings marine industry expertise and connections to Vetus from his previous roles,” Vetus said in a statement.

Baldereschi will be the main contact for Vetus sales activities and developments in Italy, “with a specific remit to support continued sales growth and initiate new partnerships in Italy’s thriving OEM market.”

In Barcelona, Joana Franco has joined Vetus as Sales Account Manager for Spain and Portugal. She is a naval architect, ocean engineer and open water diver. Franco “brings multi-lingual communication skills to the position, as well as monitoring and supervision experience in ship repair and design projects.”

“We are still seeing high demand for boating equipment, as more people discover the enjoyment of being out on the water,” according to Thijs Boegheim, Vetus’ EMEA sales director.

Vetus makes a dozen marine systems – from engines, electric propulsion, and generators to anchoring and mooring products, thrusters and control panels. The company is headquartered in the Netherlands, with subsidiaries in 17 other countries.

Since July 2021, Vetus has been hiring international staff, including people for very senior positions such as Jennifer La Combe, the Marketing Coordinator USA, and Director of Marketing Sander Gesink.
