WhisperPower SQ PRO-series targets low-speed generator markets

DRACHTEN _ WhisperPower, the Dutch maker of electrical systems for cars, vessels and other off-grid users _ will introduce a new line of low-speed generators for continuous operation and commercial applications at the 2018 METSTRADE show (Hall 1, stand 1457).

It says its SQ-range of 1500-rpm fixed generators “represents our anticipation of a market demand for low-noise and high-quality fixed-speed generators.”

The PRO-designated range runs from 10 to 32 kVA models. It will be extended shortly with a 50 kVA 3-phase unit. The diesel engines used for the PRO models will meet emission requirements taking effect in 2019 in Europe (Stage V) and the USA (EPA / Tier IV).

For system management and remote control, WhisperPower opted for Deep Sea Control Modules to enable monitoring and operating the generator system via GSM or internet. The Deep Sea (DSE) panel is easily connected to analog and digital networks.

The generator systems will be assembled in Drachten and be available with or without a soundproof cover. The generators have been CCS and Russian River-type approved and if required, have the option to be provided with other type approvals.

“We have always been strong in delivering our Genverter variable-speed generator systems that are connected to large battery systems and high power inverters for power use over longer periods without running a generator,” says WhisperPower International Sales Manager Johannes Doornbosch. WhisperPower sees continuing demand, especially on superyachts and commercial vessels, for high-quality fixed-speed generators that can run non-stop.

“To serve this market demand we have renewed and expanded our SQ range. Currently, this market sector is largely served by a number of American brands,” adds Doornbosch.
